Arthur W. Claypool, 84, of Niantic, IL passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 7, 2011).
A service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10, 2011) at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Claypool was born on June 30, 1927 in Niantic, IL, the son of Arthur W. and Lena W. (Caudle) Claypool. Arthur served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. He was a supervisor for PPG Industries, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Niantic Christian Church. Arthur was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed raising cattle. He married Doris M. Robbins on August 22, 1947. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1989.
Surviving are his children: Richard L. Claypool of Decatur, IL, Linda (Robert) Schwitek of Decatur, IL and Jan Claypool-Wood of Warrensburg, IL; brothers: Lewis (Connie) Claypool of Niantic, IL and Richard (Linda) Claypool of Blue Mound, IL; sisters: Marie Timmons of Niantic, IL and Nadine Riley of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Katrina (Scott) Morlock of Harristown, IL, Cory Schwitek of Buckeye, AZ, Daphne (Lance) Tener of Mt. Zion, IL, Jaclyn (Rian) Campbell of Illiopolis, IL, Leslie Claypool of Decatur, IL, Kaila Claypool-Wood of Warrensburg, IL and Tyler Wood of Monticello, IL; thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Charles A. Claypool and one brother.

I will miss him. He would kid around with me. He was such a sports fan. THe last time I saw him he had his Cubs blanket over his legs...but was watching the Bears. A true Illinois sports fan. I will hold his memory close to my heart.
